Experienced Board, Committee Member and Executive Director
Experienced leader in governance, stakeholder engagement, major infrastructure project oversight. Proven track record in managing community relations, resolving disputes and ensuring accountability in complex environments, including public and private sectors. Board experience, including governance, oversight, strategic planning and stakeholder management in both regulated and unregulated environments at the Nursing and Midwifery Council, as an Independent Panel Member for Public Appointments with the Department for Transport, as Chair of the Nominations Committee and Chair of EDI Committee.
In the time I have worked with Joyce, she has been a reliable, thorough and trusted member of the committee. She has been a sounding board for me as well as the other members of the board and school leadership. She has been sensible and appropriate in her responses. She has lead investigations with clarity and compassion but also challenged appropriately and effectively. She is involved in both the strategic as well as the operational aspect of her EDI role and identified areas that require deep dives which has led and advised on.

Joyce Sarpong is an experienced coach and mentor, specializing in supporting senior executives, C-suite leaders, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. As the Lead Coach for The Bridging Project, she empowers underrepresented students, including first-generation university attendees, through workshops and leadership coaching. Previously, she worked with Saxton Bampfylde, delivering holistic career and leadership development programs. Additionally, as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster, she contributes to entrepreneurship and marketing modules while mentoring staff and students in leadership practices.
I commend Joyce on being a fantastic mentor and coach. As one of her protégées, I was guided to set and achieve realistic goals, challenge my assumptions and broaden my perspective. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Joyce at AfricaOracle on producing a International Marketing Strategy for the Tanzanian Tourism Board (TTB), during which we have co-created the strategy for TTB’s UK market led by her expertise and support. During our interactions, Joyce demonstrated her leadership with clear lines of communication to all stakeholders involved.
